Gesualdo da Venosa Aglianico Del Vulture 2013, Cantina di Venosa

Gesualdo da Venosa Aglianico Del Vulture 2013, Cantina di Venosa

This Gesualdo da Venosa Aglianico Del Vulture is a red wine produced by the Cantina di Venosa winery in the Basilicata area of Southern Italy. The Aglianico grapes are harvested in October from vines that are between 40 and 50 years old.

Half of the wine is matured in 225 liters French oak barrels for around nine months. The portion stored in stainless steel is blended with the oak-matured wine before bottling. The 2013 vintage of the Gesualdo da Venosa Aglianico Del Vulture is an elegant ruby-red wine with perfumes of amarena cherries and blackcurrant. In the mouth, the wine is smooth and silky, almost creamy with fruity aromas (blackberries, plums) associated to some hints of pepper.
